CLOWN
Laurel has taught and written extensively about clown as a revolutionary pedagogical tool. She and her husband, Ewen Wright, have performed together as a clown duo since 2007. Laurel has taught clown workshops and seminars for Albuquerque Little Theatre, Blackout Theatre, Buran Theatre, Boulder Circus Center, Cardboard Playhouse, Explora Children’s Museum, Fractal Tribe, Harwood Community Arts Center, Idyllwild Arts Academy, The National Hispanic Cultural Center's Circo Latino and Artes los Martes programs, New Mexico PLAY Conservatory, the University of New Mexico Street Theatre Brigade, and the YBCA Young Artists at Work. Her Master's thesis, Everything Seemed New: Clown as Embodied Critical Pedagogy was published in the Theater Topics journal in 2011. |
